![]() ![]() Easter eggs will be peppered throughout the pages, but it’s up to the reader to know to look for such clues. ![]() In cases like these (and other books I’ve noticed), I’ve felt that readers have to approach reading them as if they were binge-watching a new series on Netflix. The plot flowed well for me I didn’t think it was slow at all. But Marie Lu’s integrative world of colours and points makes me wish we had this technology in real life, because how cool would that freaking be?! The only thing that pushed this book back for me is the realistic representations of investigations, court proceedings, the way companies actually work – it just seemed a little surreal to me. Heck, I barely even know how to win a race of Mario Kart. But I fell in love with the characters and the world all over again. I don’t know why I was ever so worried about this book! Maybe because of other reviews posting caution. But, with the help of the Phoenix Riders and some other unlikely allies, Emika realizes just how dangerous the Blackcoats’ intentions can be.
